BLOG 17

Well here we are again peeps, I was gently reminded the other day that it was a while since my last blog, so here we go :o)

So let's see what's what..hmmm, well it probably won't be chronologically....wow big words so early on....correct, so I'll start with.......... :o)

My gorgeous little grandson had his christening last week in St Rhuddlad Church. Such a shame that the weather didn't behave as we were all a bit windswept and soggy. :o( The little prince looked absolutely gorgeous in his silk suit and hat, and his two big brothers looked like little gentlemen in their suits. Do you know throughout the service he didn't make a peep, he loved all the attention given to him.....just like his dad... and even when the vicar poured the holy water on his head there was no nonsense and he took it all in his stride, bless his cotton socks. :o) Mind you the big kids...godparents....were kept quiet sipping on boiled sweets lol. Well, I took loads of piccies of them all and they came out all right, even if I do say so myself.

So this next bit I'll probably get told off for but, hey, it's my personal opinion, and everyone is entitled to their opinion right? I refer to the Lobster Pot where we all went for food after the ceremony. Ermm I didn't have a very high opinion of the place due to being, let's say disappointed, the last time I was there. Ok it had been a few years, so benefit of the doubt time yes? Well all I can say is that I was 'disappointed' again. As far as I know I am the only one who didn't enjoy my meal there. Uncovered bowls of apple sauce, horseradish sauce and something else were already on the table when we arrived and a skin had formed on the horseradish sauce, yuk. So, my starter of Thai Crab Cakes with Sweet Chilli sauce was served on a sad bed of salad and was hard and crunchy, not soft as expected. The main I had was pork, which was quite nice, accompanied by the smallest piece of crackling, no more than the size of a 50p, seasonal veg of mashed potatoes, carrots, red cabbage and a gloop which I was told was leeks in cheese sauce! I decided against a dessert and just had my coffee which was served with milk, no option of cream. After trying to attract the attention of the waitress three times to ask if there was cream I gave up. Such a shame as otherwise it was a nice christening and the cake was cute.

Well I reckon that is my rant for now eh? Lol :o)

Still talking about my grandkids....love them all to bits :o) …. How proud am I of my grandson who walked up Snowdon in aid of Holyhead Stroke Group. He made the ascent in blustery and misty conditions with his mother and other members of his mother's family. He completed the 3560ft ascent in three and a half hours bless him. He took his time coming down and the whole episode took eight hours from top to bottom. He was really tired and stiff the next day but happy he'd done it. :o)

Rain rain go away please lol.  What's the weather been like round your way? I'm glad to say that the rain has stopped for the time being. :o) Mind you we all complain but, I don't know about you, but where I live we are really lucky we don't get floods...ok we get floods but not to the extent some places in Britain get. Have you also noticed how the main headlines on the news is the rain? Yea it's news but there are more pressing news items to be reported aren't there?

Hmm... I think this one is going to be short and sweet this time....so....

BLOG 16

Hyia peeps, long time no blog eh?

Well what can I say, been busy moving house and not feeling up to doing much....but a swift kick up the pants and here I am again :o)

So let's start with the moving house bit.......

As you may...or not....know at the end of last year I moved down to live with my mam in Dolgellau. It was only for a few days...but I ended up there for a few months lol. I enjoyed being home for a while but it's not the same as having your own little corner to do your own thing is it?

Anyway I found a nice house to rent back in Anglesey....Holyhead.....It's an old house full of character and a lot bigger than I thought it would be! Mind you that's me all over lol, I hadn't even seen the house....apart from the outside of it on Google Maps :o).... before I took it on, and I moved in the day I came up and had the keys. Well technically, I didn't get the keys, my sons did as they were delivering my three piece and bits and bobs, so they got to see it first :o)

I think that I will be happy here....unless my gypsy wanderlust kicks in again lol :o).

My granddaughter has been staying a lot since I've got back and I love having her here, and it's good to see my grandsons on a regular basis now too, as they are all close by. I have missed having my little family around me :o).

There's loads left to do for me to be completely settled in, I still need a few things around place,and I need to do some decorating to put my own little stamp on it, but I guess it'll all come right in the end eh? It's actually a Grade II listed building, and the only down side is that I don't have a garden :o( There is a small....as in small.... courtyard in the back which will be ok to sit in in the summer, when it's been cleared and a few flower pots put down :o)

My granddaughter has had another guinea pig :o) He is called Taz and I'll put up his picture later when my computer decides to play ball. He has settled down great with Olly, and Olly is very protective of him, always nuzzling him and purring at him. It's funny to watch them together. For example, when they are allowed to run free in the living room and they get separated for some reason, Taz starts on this high-pitched squeaking until he hears Olly doing his purring bit and they nuzzle when they find each other...aww sweet yeah?

Huh, even the guinea pigs get more nuzzling and cuddles than I do :o(

I had to laugh the other night, I was sitting watching telly....minding my own business, when this car sped past the window closely followed by a police car with blue lights flashing. Nothing unusual there you might say given as it's in a town....but....a couple of minutes later they came back down, went round the roundabout and back up! This happened three or four times....it was hilarious to watch :o) Not that I'm condoning criminal activities at all, and I know someone could have been hurt, but it was a 'had to have been there moment' :o)

Facebook.... I'm getting a bit bored with it at the moment, it's all same old same old...'like' this and 'share' that all the time, and it annoys me that people can be so two-faced with their friends on it. Also it keeps changing the format and it's keeps letting people in after I've blocked them. I block for a reason facebook! And what's with the 'people you may know' parlavara...is that how you spell it?... I clicked on one the other day and I had no idea at all who they were, no friends in common or anything, so how would I know them eh? Also going through my friends list I noticed some of them didn't have a profile picture just a silhouette.... I think that's how it's spelt, and spell checker isn't disagreeing with me, so perhaps it's right...or spellchecker doesn't know either lol.... and I didn't recognise any of the names. Clicking on them a message came up saying this account has been deactivated, only you can see 'Fred's' name, and then an option to unfriend!! WTF?!?! How can I unfriend when I hadn't friended in the first place. Seriously Facebook needs to sort itself out good and proper >:o<

Ooooh look I'm having a rant lol :o)

Sad to say there's been a couple of changes in the extended family... well, sad in a way, because life is short and if it isn't working, even though you've tried to make it work, at the end of the day it's better to call it a day and hopefully remain friends....maybe even get back together. All you can do is be there for your kids, no matter how old they are, a hug from mam is still appreciated. :o)

I really can't believe how long it's been since my last blog, they say time flies when your having fun...not that that is the reason why. I mean I could go on and on and on at how busy I have been.... apart from the bit I told you about at the beginning....do try to keep up peeps :o) but truth be told I just didn't feel the inclination to sit down and write. Needless to say, now I've started I can't seem to shut myself up lol.

Well I once again missed seeing the Red Arrows in Valley last month. They were stopping there for refuelling before continuing with their four capital flight in the run up to the Olympics. Fortunately thanks to my pal I have a few pics, diolch blod, and for the photos from the Rhyl Airshow, I would have loved to have gone but with all the walking involved I had no chance, never mind eh, still have piccies. :o)

What do you think of the Olympics so far then? Nice to see Team GB doing well in their team and individual events. Congratulations to the medal winners and good effort to those who have been unlucky. Did you all catch the opening ceremony? I felt it was a bit boring right in the beginning especially the Industrial Evolution bit, but it soon picked up. It was great to see so many countries gathering together and putting aside their differences, and their delegation marching proudly behind their country's flag. The best bit for me was the end when they created the cauldron and lit it and the firework display which followed. Brilliant, can't wait to see what they have in store for the closing ceremony eh?

BLOG 15

So gutted the other day....the legendary Red Arrows were at RAF Valley. They did a practise display in the afternoon, and....guess what....I missed it :o(   I have, however got a few pictures of their aerobatics all thanks to someone more besotted than me with aviation...diolch blod.... :o)  Anyway you have to admit looking at these pics of the Hawk T 1A, the skill of the pilots is amazing...the precision and the timing of each manoeuvre is carried out with amazing accuracy. It must be such a buzz to be a part of these displays. Did you know....bear with me you knowledgeable ones out there, not everyone is aware of these trivia facts :o) ….it is not so easy to become a member of the Red Arrows....oh no....each pilot has to have had completed at least one operational tour on a fast jet like a Tornado, Jaguar or Harrier. And did you also know that if one of the pilots can’t fly they fly in an eight plane formation but, if the Team Leader ‘Red1’ is unable to fly, then the display doesn’t go ahead. Each of the nine pilots always flies in the same position in formation and they don’t have reserve pilots. This is because a spare pilot would not perform often enough to fly to the standard required. I could go on and on it’s fascinating.... :o)  Honestly, if you ever get the chance to watch them up close, or just read up about them, I’m sure you’ll feel the same about them. =o)

The Olympic Flame has now run its course through Wales. Did anyone get to see it at all?

It trundled its way through Dolgellau on Monday morning and it was a good turnout for the runners who took part. A procession including circus acts, acrobatics and street bands came ahead of the torch and Coca Cola reps gave out limited edition bottles of coca cola and frisbees at random to the crowds. Crowds of school children lined the route through the town. It was difficult to take photos though as there were so many people clamouring at the same time :o(

The only thing that struck me as strange though was the talk that Ras y Gader was being held to commemorate the Olympic Flame passing through!! I’m sorry but as I recall Ras y Gader has been held annually for a good few years and is not something new created for this event. Ras y Gader is a race of 10.5 miles from Dolgellau to the summit of Cader Idris and back down. It is a well organised fell run which is very popular in all categories. This year’s winner from Eryri running club was Matthew Roberts in a time of 1:28:43. Well done to him.

It’s been quite a few years since I went up to the top of Cader...it would probably take me about a month to walk up it now lol. It is beautiful up there though, the views, the tranquillity....if you ignore the sheep bleating :o) Although you know what they say about Cader Idris don't you....apart from the stories of the Tylwyth Teg (faries).... they say that if you spend the night on the summit, you either become a poet or a mad man!....Anyone care to try?... ;o) lol

When we were little we used to go for a walk with mam and dad, usually on a Sunday, along Cader Road, past Cader Idris and the Dam and home through the Wenallt. When we used to go with dad when we were a bit older, it was an adventure. Mostly because he used to take us to places he used to go as a child.....the only problem was at times, the fact that the lay of the land had changed since then....not that it bothered dad, he used to use that route so he saw no reason not to continue that way lol. Often a shout would be heard by an irate farmer telling us we were trespassing...until they saw who it was, then it was a case of: “Oh hello Treb, didn’t see it was you...etc etc”. Even if there was barbed wire on the top of a fence, it was a case of...”Duw that never used to be there..never mind...over you go...” Bless his cotton socks. :o)

When I was growing up we had picnics in the summer at the foot of Cader and when I had my children and we used to come down to Dolgellau, I would take them for a picnic there. When my mam and dad came with us, dad used to enthral them with stories of his youth and the folk tales connected to the area, and even my granddaughter has been for picnics there, memories shared through the generations :o)

BLOG 14

Well did anybody watch the The Diamond Jubilee: Armed Forces Tribute, either at Windsor or on the television Saturday morning? I watched it live on the TV and I thought it was brilliant. The parade of all the armed forces marching past the Queen and Prince Phillip on the Castle Quadrangle was good but to me the best bit was the flypasts. The first one was a diamond formation of nine RAF Typhoons and later a flypast featuring 78 current and historic aircraft was led by 13 helicopters consisting of Merlin, Chinook, Sea King, and Apache all from RAF Odiham. These were then followed by the historic Lancaster bomber PA474 flying with 4 Spitfires from RAF Coningsby. Then we had 20 Short Tucano RAF trainers from RAF Linton-on-Ouse who flew in formation creating a perfect 60 in the sky over Windsor castle. Next came the RAF transporters..the Hercules, two flew one behind the other. A VC10 RAF Tanker flanked by two Tornado bombers had her fuel hoses out as she flew. These were from RAF Brize Norton. Then we had the fantastic....not that I'm biased lol....Hawk RAF/Navy trainers from RAF Valley flying in formation to show the E 11 R in the sky....brilliant. Last but by no means least....the legendary Red Arrows creating a three dimensional diamond to finish a flypast they should all feel immensely proud of. The skill of the pilots and the hard work of the ground crew and organisers was superb. :oD

Felt a bit cross with myself the other day for allowing myself to get upset indirectly by that 'person' I had 'trouble' with in work. She came up in conversation and it really upset me to realise that she is still getting one over me, and it still brings back the memories of what she did galloping towards me and landing like a depth charge in my gut....I thought I'd gotten over it, or at least put it in a box in the back of everything....obviously it's not going to go away in a hurry....or her either as she is still connected to too many people I know. Don't know what to do to make it better.... :'o(

Meet Olly, my granddaughter's guinea pig, isn't he gorgeous? :o) 

He loves snuggling up to her at the nape of her neck and under her hair, peeping out....lol. I have had the odd....and I mean odd....conversation with him over the phone. I kid you not....I speak and he squeaks lol.

Can you believe that the newest addition to the family....my grandson....is now four weeks old, doesn't time fly when your having fun :o) I'm told he is changing daily, but unfortunately I still haven't met the little man, and joke that he'll be graduating from university before I get to see him :o( ....but that will all change soon I hope and I will be full of news about him :o)

Sitting here writing this and I've just had an idea....yes it did hurt.... :o).... What if I was to do an OU course?

I mean I'm quite intelligent....yes I am....so why not at least look into it? Can't do any harm to look no? 

Lol get me, mature student in the making ha ha ha....

Hmm, I am going to trail through the OU website now to see what's what....

BLOG 13

Blog 13....lucky I'm not a superstitious person eh, or I might be tempted to skip it and go on to number 14 lol

Well I am soo gutted that I can't....didn't get to, depending when you're reading this....go to watch the rehearsal at RAF Valley for the Jubilee Flypast. It's not an airshow, it's a just a rehearsal for one of the most complex airborne spectacles ever attempted. I know I can watch it on telly, but it doesn't begin to compare to actually being there. :o(  I love jets....not got much to say to the big commercial planes but I do love the jets. The Hawk and Typhoon are firm favourites, but my all time favourite has to be the Harrier Jump Jet. What a machine :o) I also love the Red Arrows Aerial display team and admire their skill in the air. Sadly they have had two tragedies close to each other in the past year or so and heartfelt sympathy given to their loved ones and colleagues.

On a lighter note one of my all time favourite films....you guessed it lol....Top Gun showing all those action shots of the F-14 Tomcats and starring the gorgeous duo, Tom Cruise and Anthony Edwards, not to mention Val Kilmer....phew :op.

Still on the conversation of aircraft, I am also rather partial to helicopters, my favourite being the Chinook, followed by the Apache and Sea King. The Sea Kings of course are used by 22 Squadron RAF Valley for their Search & Rescue. I used to go to RAF Valley to watch the aircraft coming and going. The Hawk pilots when taxi-ing on the runway waiting clearance to proceed would wave to you whilst waiting.... I am so easily pleased aren't I? :o) The car park is literally across the road to one of the runways and further along, near to a lane leading to a small beach you can park and watch the helicopters. I used to find it both relaxing....yea I know that sounds strange, but in a funny way it was....and exciting at the same time. It's strange how you lose all sense of time there. Often there would be all sorts of people there of all ages, some die hard spotters and ranging to families and people just being curious. :o)  Sometimes you could be there for ages and not see a thing and other times they would be really busy there. If you were lucky you would see something different coming in like the Eurofighter Typhoon....which I never saw land :o(  and the Hercules which was good. Of course at the other end is the Anglesey Airport which has flights to Cardiff and the Isle of Man. I really miss going there, but maybe one day I'll get back. Sometimes I used to go there alone but mostly my friend and me used to go there together and spend loads of time watching them and taking photos. I haven't been taking photos all that long as I didn't have a good camera until a couple of years ago, but, even if I do say so I'm getting quite good at it....though I doubt I'll ever be in his league of course. I can hear him agreeing with me as I write lol :o)

So what did everyone think of the two big games for the two Manchester clubs? Unfortunately, once again the ugly side of the sport came out in the City v QPR game with the unnecessary violence of Joey Barton. Why? Who knows why they do it. I hope he gets a fitting punishment, but I doubt it very much.

Well once again the sun is shining with blue skies filled with fluffy white clouds....getting all poetical again :o) I hope we get a really nice summer this year, I said the other day that I reckon we are going to get a really hot summer like we did in 1976....watch this space lol

Oooh, I've just realised, I haven't had a rant for a while....hmmm :o)

Blog 12

Afon Arran

Hey...get me, I've worked out how to put pictures on my blog, yay!....errm....I'm so easily pleased lol :o)

This a picture of the Afon Arran in Dolgellau just before it goes under Bont yr Arran which leads into the town itself. We used to walk along the river, under the bridge and down to Cae Chwech as it was then, opposite the park. Some of the braver kids....you'll be surprised to hear I wasn't one of them ;o)....used to swing with a rope from a tree, across the deeper part of the river to the opposite bank.

Unfortunately, as in all redevelopment our play field is now a car park. In all fairness though, it not only is a car park they have also built a leisure centre there, so I guess the kids have benefitted from it. Mind you the biggest improvement I have to say is the park itself. They received funding from the National Lottery and now it is a park where not only the children can have fun, adults can too. I haven't got a picture as yet but I will post one on when I get one.... :o)  If anyone has a photo of the park before or after, please email them to me.... sharonevans2008@btinternet.com .... and we can all share them on here. Sounds like a plan? :o)


Well....unfortunately I no longer am able to read what's in front of my face without wearing my glasses.... :o(  on a happier note I can still read what's across the room.... :o)  So I reckon the best plan of action is to put my book on the table across the room in order to read it :o) Oh dear....massive flaw in that idea....I would have to cross the room each time I wanted to turn the pages over, and the speed I read I'd be up and down more often than a call girl's knickers.... ;op

So what did you all get up to over the bank holiday week-end? Did anyone go to the Victorian Extravaganza in Llandudno?  We used to go a lot, but haven't been for a few years now. My sister-in-law was one of the supporters who used to get into the spirit of it all. She used to make her own victorian costumes and wore them all day and took part in the parade through the town. She persuaded my daughter and her friend to take part once....and it was only once lol ....they both looked very nice fair play to them, but being teenagers the costumes were changed to their own clothes as soon as.... :o)

Happy Birthday today to my pal who is 27....again lol x

Blog 11

Hmmm....decided to write the next blog....got as far as this.... then......

Reading the newspaper this morning I was amazed to read that John Terry the Chelsea player who was sent off in the last Chelsea v Barcelona game is to be allowed to lift the cup if Chelsea win. Unbelievable that despite the racism case looming over him and being sent off for kneeing a Barcelona player in the back, the message that is being portrayed here is, no matter what you do wrong you will be rewarded for it. Not only....in my opinion....should he not be allowed to raise the cup, he shouldn't be allowed into the match and he should be stripped of his captaincy for  not only this misdemeanour, but for all his antics which give football a bad name. You know that I'm not the world's biggest football fan.... in fact I can't stand the game....but even I know that, like it or not, these people are placed on the world's stage and and should set an example.....

Still ranting at sporting atrocities, the news that Dwaine Chambers has had his Olympic lifelong ban lifted!!!! He was caught as a drug cheat, using performance enhancing drugs and banned for life from competing in the Olympics. Surely a life ban should be just that? Once again a poor example shown to our youngsters. Forget putting in all that hard work and dedication. Forget the pride in representing your club and country honestly. Go ahead and cheat your way to the top and take away the honour from normal athletes! I know that I've opened a can of worms with this :o) I have had one or two opinions, good valid arguments. A couple of people agree with me, one agreed and disagreed,  at the same time, and quite a few had the same opinion, in that he has now paid for his 'mistake' and should be allowed to get on with his life, including taking part in the Olympics. Hmm. Anyway what do the rest of you think? Please add your comments and share with everyone :o)

What's the weather like where you are? It has been raining here for two days non stop. Ok it's not torrential like some parts of the country, but it's still wet, lol :o)

I had to delete a friend off facebook yesterday. It's so sad in a way and I never realised he had become the person he is today :o(.  I'll keep it for the next blog....don't want more ranting on this one lol :o)

Oooh.... shhhh....don't look now but the sun has come out to play :o) Isn't the weather fascinating? It's amazing how it can change so suddenly and so often. Talk about keeping us on our toes :o)

To think at the beginning I didn't have anything to say....lol

Been talking about childhood holidays today. We used to spend our summer holidays at my nain's in Criccieth. We often spent most days down at the beach. Nain used to make us jam sandwiches with a bottle of pop and strict instructions to be home for tea and if we were to drown not to come running to her!!!!  lol :o)
In those days children could roam in relative safety. Many free ice creams from Mr Cadwalader and the odd free bag of sweets from Mrs Mansell. Days spent at the castle in our own private games. Walking along Lon Bach to Cae Swings, or to the allotments. One year we discovered a lucrative business at the golf course. The owner/manager or whatever he was would pay for lost golf balls handed in....yep you guessed it....my brother, sister, me and the owner's granddaughter....unbelievable I know lol....surprisingly found a great deal of golf balls that seemed to go missing round about the part of the course that ran alongside the hedge. Designed to allow a bit of privacy I suspect, but ideal for kids to hide under to grab any golf balls that came our way :o)

Does anyone remember when the Corona man came round selling pop? If memory serves me right....that's a bit of a gamble....if you gave him back the bottle with the lid you got your next one cheaper. And who can honestly say that they never got excited when you heard the musical chimes of the ice cream van coming down the street :o)

Good memories :o)

I could write a book about childhood memories couldn't I.... hmmm....

Blog 10

Oooh get me, into double figures blogwise :o)

Baby update, both mother and baby allowed home today and doing well :o)

Did anyone watch the London Marathon last Sunday? It amazes me the amount of people taking part every year, each one with their own personal reason for taking part. For the elite runners its about setting new records, personal bests to beat and qualifying for other competitions like the Olympics. For other runners its about proving to themselves they can do it, others to represent their running clubs. They should be proud of themselves for achieving this, but to me its the ordinary runners taking part that I admire the most. People who decide to run this gruelling 26 miles to raise money for their chosen charity. Some never ran more than a few miles before, other have never attempted running a few yards let alone a marathon. For whatever reason these people put themselves through the pain and exhaustion, finishing the race for themselves and raising money. I take my hat off to them. The only ones that I can't get my head around are the one who dress up in fancy dress. Why? Surely its hard enough without the extra heat these costumes create? There was one man who had a frame shaped like a pylon and he said it weighed the same as a bag of cement. I mean you wouldn't walk 26miles carrying a bag of cement would you?

On a sad note, somebody died taking part in this year's marathon, such a shame, she was so close to completing it too. Heartfelt sympathy to her family. :o(

Woke up this morning to torrential rain pounding on the window....forgotten what it sounded like lol. I love listening to the rain and, oddly....which describes me lol....I like....correction, I used to like....walking in the rain. Call me odd....I can see you trying not to smile at that :o)....but I used to like sitting by the sea in the rain or by a lake. The water looks sooo different in the rain, especially a lake, you can almost say that the rain dances on the the surface.....get me, poetic or what lol. I don't do much walking these days but maybe one day I will take another long walk in the rain.

My granddaughter has decided that she wants a guinea pig. Fair play, she has done her homework before hand, checking on prices of cages, water bottles, bedding, food and treats, and general care. She is saving up her money to pay for everything herself bless.... :o) watch this space for updates :o)

My phone is still being a pain, I've tried everything my nice tech help has suggested, and a few of my own....but....absolutely nothing...nada....zilch....dim byd!!! :o( Oh, well I'll just have to make do with it, until my numbers come up on the lottery....mind you it would help if I bought some tickets, eh? ;o) Still talking of technical things....my lapi is running a bit faster now. I spent some time giving it tlc this evening, disk clean up, defrag, antivirus scan, deleting browsing history....wow I sound like I know what I'm talking about ha ha, .let's just say I've had a patient(ish), good teacher over some time....diolch blod :o)

Is anyone playing this new app called DrawSomething? It's fun to play, it's like the programme Win, Lose or Draw. Don't know if anybody remembers it, basically there were two teams, and each team took it in turns to guess what one member drew on the flip chart....oops I'm digressing again....anyway that's what it's like. The only drawback is that sometimes it takes ages to load....well mine does....and you don't know if anyone is playing the game until it says play next to their name. So even though it has the basis for a good game it lets itself down because of the timing and the loading problem. I expect I'll still use it, but not as often as I did when I first downloaded it.

Well at last I can happily say that my gorgeous new grandson has arrived well and healthy!
I can only half-heartedly apologise to all you non-baby fans but for at least this chapter I am going to gush and goo about the little man :o)  He finally arrived yesterday and he is gorgeous! Of course I am slightly biased but I defy any one not to think, aww, when they see a baby. He weighed in at 6lb 4oz the exact same weight as his dad, my youngest. Unfortunately I haven't seen him in the flesh yet but I can't wait. Loads of snuggles and cuddles await this little bundle from his nain. In his picture he has his father's mouth, what we say in welsh a 'ceg sws'... lol :o). Do you know I really love babies, the only problem....though some wouldn't call it a problem....is that babies always fall asleep whilst they have snuggles from me. I can only assume that they feel safe and awfully comfy lol :o)  My daughter in law is going to be the only female in their family seeing as the little one has two big brothers....well big, as in older than him lol :o) Lots of smiley faces in this bit I know, but I haven't had much to smile about lately so I'm making the most of it. Wish I was living closer to them so I could spend more time spoiling him and the rest of my grandkids. Funnily enough when my children were small and my mother used to spoil them, I used to tell her off and she always said: "It's a nain's prerogative to spoil the grandchildren. You'll see for yourself one of these days". She was soooo right! Scary, I agree with my mam :-s .... lol
Oh, I have been knitting....yes knitting....lol I haven't knitted in years, but so far I have finished a shawl and three quarters of a cardigan and a knitted waistcoat! Not sure how the last two will look like as I am about to do the neckband which involves picking up stitches....I have no problem in dropping them lol.
Well, I'll keep you updated to his progress and all of them....:o)

So the Grand National. What did you think of it, eh? Can you feel a rant coming on? It is the longest and most gruelling of the racing season. The jumps are more rigid than normal steeplechases and some are different heights either side. Some racing pundits say that if they were to lower the jumps then the race would become faster and more dangerous. How can they justify that, given the injuries received as it is now. I say that they should lower the fences and allow fewer horses to compete. One of the biggest problems occur when you have such a tight bunch of horses at the jumps leaving no leeway if a jockey becomes unseated or a horse falls, leading to carnage. Once again there were serious injuries with a jockey breaking his leg and two horses having to be destroyed. Jockeys are trained to roll into a ball and not move until they safely can, because 90% of the time a horse will do its utmost to avoid trampling on you. Unfortunately in cases like this it has no choice. Yes the owners feel sad at the loss of such a valuable animal, especially a winning stallion, the potential stud fees etc, but at the end of the day, that commodity is insured. The only time organisers will consider changing this race is....God forbid.... a jockey is killed. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against  competitive horse riding.... being a groom was my chosen career....it's just the Grand National.

You might be interested to know that my lovely hard working phone has relapsed to being an annoyingly frustrating mind-numbing worthless piece of rubbish!!!! Yep its on the blink again :o(

Well my mind doesn't want to focus at the moment so I'll leave......oooh, talking of which there was something else I wanted to share with you. :o) My mind! I think it's slowly turning to mush.....seriously, I'm not joking....take for example the other day right. I was doing my knitting....I know I still can't believe it....anyway there I was counting my stitches....44,45,46,47....erm....erm....three times I had to start from the beginning before I realised 48 was next :o) Go on laugh, I am, I think it's hilarious! Add to that the fact that I forget words in mid sentence, there's not much hope for me no? :o)

Hi friends, firstly  apologies for the gap between the last blog and this one.

So facebook has been annoying me of late...is anyone else experiencing annoying little things like..being told you have a message when you don't, or being told you have notifications when it's old ones being shown? The most annoying thing for me though is having someone I have blocked since last year suddenly showing up in friends'  feeds. I thought the whole idea of blocking people was to ensure that they and you never saw anything on facebook. I was sooo annoyed that I haven't been on facebook since then...I mean she ruined enough of my life and I'll be damned if I'm going to see how she has manipulated and ingratiated herself as such a nice person to people..she really makes me sick! Unfortunately I can, at the moment only see one way to be free of her, ad that is to cut all ties associated with my life that comes in contact with her. I really don't want to do that because there are a few people I care about and don't want to lose in my life. Mind you in doing that I am letting her win aren't I?....Oh I don't know what to do, either way I'm the one that loses out :o(

What weather we're having eh? :o) It has been glorious here in North Wales all week, what about where you all are? It's strange though, all this sun and warmth in the middle of March. Some say that we will pay for it come summertime and we will have a rotten summer. I don't agree, I reckon we are going to get a similar one to the 1976 drought.

1976!! hmm I remember it well lol, I had just finished my three months stint on a stud farm learning to be a groom...which was my ultimate dream, to be surrounded by horses every day....anyway whilst waiting to go to Bucks to start another stint on a different type of stud farm, I began a summer job on the narrow gauge railway near home. I had a fun filled two months there, as you can imagine being a 16yr old lol. I started in the gift shop during the first week and was, I'm afraid to say bored to tears.. couple of days later I was asked if I'd like to fill in as a clippie whilst someone was off sick. What can I say...of course I did :o) Oh we thought we were so cool lol. Health & Safety would have had a field day with us. I suppose like at the fair it's showmanship... ok, ok, we were showing off.... as the train slowed for stations we jumped off and always left it till the last minute to jump back on, having fun with the kids and flirting with the young lads and dads ;op.

Two miles from the station to the end of the line, you could catch the ferry across the estuary to the small seaside town. Well, I say ferry, more of a boat with an outboard motor which carried a staggering eight? people across at a time. It's still there today and still going strong. :o)

Towards the end of that summer we were placing bets almost daily as to when we would get even a drop of rain. Of course the time did arrive when the heavens opened and the rain teemed down.

So what do you think of this madness of panic buying at the fuel pumps then? I can't believe the madness of it all, I mean there isn't even a strike at the moment they are is still negotiating. I f it's like this now how much worse will it be if and when the strike begins. Petrol stations are running dry because of the demand and are having to wait longer for new supplies to get to them. One garage owner said on the news earlier that he'd received his usual quota of fuel.... which would normally last him a good week..yesterday and reckons he'll be dry by tomorrow and won't get another delivery until next week. He also said that because people are concentrating on filling up their cars they aren't buying anything in the shop, and this is where his profit margins are going to fall. Mind you it doesn't help when that idiot Cameron tells people to keep their cars topped up and to keep a gerry can. He is adding fuel to the fire, doesn't he know how dangerous it is keeping fuel in sheds and garages, because let's face it some people aren't going to just keep a small gerry can in their boot are they? 

gerry can? Is that how you spell it? never thought about it before lol :o)

Hi peeps how you all doing? 


Well isn't the Six Nations getting exciting? 
Can't wait for next weekend....my birthday....Wales to win the Grand Slam and Mother's Day....;)


Just ordered some Thornton's chocs for my mam to be delivered....Hope she likes them....she prefers dark chocs as opposed to milk, but she's having a mix of both and all soft centres cos she prefers them. Me, I can't stand the stuff.... as I've mentioned before. I was going to get her some flowers but she's been saying that she not had Thornton's in a long time....so they will be here Sat, hopefully. 
It would be nice to see my three on Mother's Day, or on my birthday but I don't think I will be seeing them as we don't live round the corner from each other any more  :(


Shall I have a rant on this blog.... hmmm.... let me think....maybe later lol :o)


Since I've been a stay at home person, lately I've become addicted to quiz shows....honestly though....even allowing for nerves....some of the contestants are pretty thick :o)  I mean some of the questions hardly stretch the little grey cells but still they either give a stupid answer or don't know it. With a danger of being classed as my nain....I have to ask, what do they teach them in schools these days....oops seems I'm ranting before time lol


Well I applied for a job the other day but having not heard from them am I to assume that:
a) they haven't received my application
b) they don't want me
c) they can't be bothered to acknowledge / let me know
d) all the above


I have always thought of myself as a patient person .... yes I know you look surprised.... but lately I find myself very easily irritated. I mean I wish it wasn't true but I think I may blow a fuse soon. God wouldn't that be entertaining ;o)


I wonder why our temperaments change though, do you think it's because of the surroundings we live in, or the people we are surrounded with, or is it an age thing? Hmm.... I tend to think that it could be due to our surroundings and the people in them. I mean take me for example, I am very comfortable with my own company and I don't take too kindly to not being able to escape to my own space when the need arises. Don't get me wrong, I love my family and friends and I love seeing them....some more than others....but when I can't escape.... maybe escape isn't the right word but I can't bring to mind another one....I feel trapped, and this is when I expect, I find myself biting my tongue sooo hard...


So anyone know of any houses, flats, bungalows, tents, caravans, barns going anywhere? hopefully with small or no deposit up front and with 3G coverage lol. Seriously, if anyone knows of somewhere please let me know yea? :o)


Now remember all you children out there of whatever age, its Mother's Day on Sunday so even if you can't afford a card or present then just tell your mam you love her :o)

Final chapter on the mystery psycho....my thoughts of who the responsible person....and I use the term lightly... is by process of elimination including the fact that I was deleted off fb and blocked, she stopped talking to me...except when mutual friends were in the convo...she was working the day before the notes always appeared and on the New Years Eve, realising that some of the things in the notes...although could possibly be someone else...mostly pointed to her, clever of her really. Although the handwriting was disguised, there were some similarities. God I hate not being able to have had the chance to catch her out and confront her and, importantly, to be believed it was her....it's just galling that I was and am the victim in all this....I mean I don't kid myself for one minute that I am someone special, not even to those I'm close to, but I didn't realise at the time that she decided that I wasn't to be allowed to be close to anyone there.... I mean, how could I not think whenever I looked at my colleagues.... before I realised who was responsible... is it you or you, are you being nice to me whilst laughing at me, can I trust you, not knowing was bad, but there were a couple of times I caught her smirking at me, now I know why, and it took time to realise that it was her. Was she insecure in her friendships, was she unhappy in her life, was she (unbelievably) jealous of me, or was she just as I have perceived her...a nasty, evil piece of s**t that thought she had the right to ruin someones life! Oh, I give a good impression of still being happy and unruffled, cos let's face it she can't carry out her threats now,.... like the one about a box.... I'm not there and I'm miles away, but the truth is.... I'm an unhappy scared individual still jumping at my own shadow.... So thanks for that ***, I hope it was worth it ....huh, course it was, for you, you still have everything unchanged apart from me being around, you still have people believing you're sweet and innocent, I should never have gone against my instincts and given you the benefit of the doubt when I first met you....a mistake I will never  repeat! You know, it has been fairly uplifting sharing this on here (and I apologise if it's been boring for anyone) because apart from one person, nobody else was aware of it all (mostly as I was advised not to talk about it at the time)...massive thanks to him for being there for me x 
Well that's pretty much it on this particular story....do I hear sighs? lol :o)

We had such a lovely day here yesterday, weather-wise, and I went for a walk, not far but it was nice to blow the cobwebs away :o)  
I used to love going for long walks....I'd walk for miles at times. When I was a teenager....I know, loooong time ago....my best friend and me used to take our dogs for a seven mile walk most Sundays and not even think about it. Even though where I was brought up is a market town, it is still steeped in the countryside, so it would be a crime not to take advantage of the beautiful scenery surrounding the place, nestling as it is at the foot of Cader Idris....not that I can walk that far these days unfortunately....but hey ho :o)


My eldest son broke his femur not long ago and not be outdone, my grandson fell in school and also broke his leg...like father like son, you've got to laugh really....even though it's not really funny....cos my family seems to be so unlucky these past few years.... :o(  :o)


Well, soon be Mother's Day and I hope you all remember your lovely mams....my three, hint, hint....lol

Hello peeps, how you doing? 


Well, if you remember at the end of the last blog I said that I would tell you a tale about what I would call a sick inividual from my old workplace? This particular person, for whatever reason, one day decided that she didn't like me anymore...or just for the hell of it....I don't know...anyways, she started dropping off little notes in my file, childishly nasty little notes, the first of which was put into the trash can where it belonged...I thought that maybe it was a case of mistaken identity until the next one and the next one, each more nasty with strange, what seemed like clues to who she was. Finally, on New Year's Eve 2010, in a busier than usuall canteen, and without me seeing who bumped into me, my arm was hurt with something sharp...now don't panic it wasn't serious just sore, just enought to draw blood and very scary...so my employers sprang into action called the police, questioned everyone previously about the letters and what happened that night, took samples of handwriting etc....didn't they?....huh.... NOT! Even though I'd reported the notes after they started, it was two weeks after receiving the first that I was contacted about them. Sure, give them their due, they eventually decided that I shouldn't be alone in the building or on any breaks, but I didn't think personally that they took it all that seriously....I mean, I had to contact the police myself about the notes and the injury, and then my manager insisted on coming with me to the police station, said it was company policy....yea right....anyway for some reason when I was intervied by my manager and her manager about it all, I felt as though I was being interrogated, no other word for it, they questioned the way I had dealt with it (the injury) and made to feel like the bad guy not the victim, at two interviews!... A result of which I was off with stress....it was awful, where was the support? where was the help?... eventually we parted company...sorry if this is boring...the worst thing is that even though I am 95% certain who was sending the notes, worked out by process of elimination, I couldn't accuse her of it incase of that 5% doubt, could I? So she is still there lording it about the place and I am here, out in the cold so to speak and if I'd have said who I thought it was, with no proof, work mates and mutual friends might have turned against me for even thinking that poor little *** would do such a thing, how could I think that about her and she'd never do anything like that...huh...you obviously don't know her that well people.... but you know what they say what goes aroung comes around....


Anyway I'm sure you don't want to hear me going on about it...if you do then let me know lol


I was asked this week to do some drawing for my soon to arrive grandson's nursery. So on canvas, I have made three. A cartoon digger, an Eeyore (I love Eeyore) and lastly a selection of boys toys....train, ball, boat, bike and teddy, and also put the alphabet on the top and bottom and numbers on the side...they're not bad even if I do say so myself lol.... Mind you I now have an order put in from my granddaughter, she wants an octopus...her favourite creature, with spots on...I know they don't have spots but why argue with a twelve year old eh?...she also wants an Eeyore and a horse...that'll keep me out of mischief for a while :o)


It's been a lovely Spring day today, sun shining, birds singing, children laughing and playing....and some joker with a strimmer! Seriously though, I do like Spring, a time for new beginnings and a time to blow away all the cobwebs. :o)


One more thing.....Wales wins the Triple Crown! :o):o):o);o) enough said!

I promise I won't say too much but, wow what a game! Yes sorry it's the rugby again, but what a game. Wales really played well and in fairness so did Scotland despite having 3 men sent to the sin bin during the match. Don't know why the Scotsman tackled Jonathon Davies though as he didn't have a ball near him :o/  Mind you it was a shame for Scotland when Hogg's try was denied by the ref. George North went off with an injury in the first half,  hope he is better soon and fully fit for the next game, the all important one in Twickenham against England. Things are looking good for Wales at the minute, we are top of the 6nations tables. Last time we were on top with two consecutive wins right at the start, we won the grand slam in 2008, so c'mon boys let's make it ours again :o)
Ok, no more sport talk on this particular blog...so what next? Hmmm...I think a nice cuppa is in order to refresh my brain...I'll be back lol :o).....


....I'm back.... fully refreshed and raring to tap tap tap at the keyboard...erm...some time soon...


I hope all you lovers were nice to each other on Valentine's Day and gave your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, significant other a token of your affection and also received something nice....me?....sadly I had nothing...."sigh!"....nothing, dim byd, nada, rien..."sigh"... :o(  Now don't feel sorry for me..what do you mean you're not?... I am happy if the people I love have been on the receiving end of having love lavished on them....cos that's the way I am :o)


Pancake day coming next...yay...I love pancakes...love cooking them and love eating them....yum!  Do you know I have many memories of pancakes... lol sounds strange doesn't it?.. Seriously though, I remember as a child my father looking after us whilst my mother was on night shift at the hospital and him making us pancakes. As far as I can remember he knew how to make them, but the thing that sticks in my mind most is dad tossing the pancakes a bit too high so they stuck to the ceiling! We used to bet on how quick they'd fall back down... :o)  Why is it though that every time you make pancakes, the first one is always a bit of a flop? How do you eat yours? Lol sounds like an advert for cream eggs doesn't it..that gooey, sickly, yucky confectionery covered in thick milk chocolate..Yuk! Now people  who know me, know that I am one of the rare breed of people who don't like chocolate, yes you heard right..I DON'T like chocolate, I hate it, it's horrible! I find it slightly amusing when someone offers me a chocolate and I say "no thank you, I don't like chocolate." OMG, you'd think I'd admitted to being the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or something lol. Hah! I have the last laugh though, cos when someone wants to buy me a present, they haven't got the easy option of 'getting a box cos everyone likes chocolate'..wrong :o)


Whilst I remember thank you for taking the time to read the blogs, I enjoy writing them as I can just ramble on and on and on and on :o)
time for a rant now...


I stopped being employed towards the end of last year due to not being well and because of stress... Now I find that I may have my money stopped because of a discrepancy between info I gave and info my ex employers finally handed in and because she, for some reason unbeknown to me ('cos lets face it I'm a lovable person, what's not to like) doesn't like me and hasn't from the first day she joined the company..anyway as a result of her 'mistake', I may lose out on what I am entitled to...grrr! It'll all be sorted I know but it's just damned inconvenient....perhaps on my next blog I'll enlighten you on what a 'nice' company I worked for and one in particular person with a sick sense of humour..... Anyway rant over :o)

Bleurgh! That's how I feel at the moment, sore throat and my voice keeps going all quiet. Some might say that's a blessing in disguise...yes I can hear you saying how quiet it is.....but, to my advantage I don't need a voice to blog :o)


Well what a game last Sunday! Some really good moves, some bad ones and a controversial decision by the ref....but the end result of 23-21 is the important end result. The determination of  North to get someone down at one point saw him practically remove the shirt off his back. But fair play to the lads, despite the illegal tackle which saw Bradley Davies sent off (and since banned for the rest of the Six Nations) it was a good game against a strong Irish side. Wales improved in the second half and despite their captain being off with an injury they just got on with it and Halfpenny's kicking skill took us into the lead right at the end. Onwards now to the next match against Scotland this week-end, and all the best to the boys.


I could go on and on about the rugby cos I love it, but to be fair to the part of my blogging readers who don't like it I will try not to over indulge in talking about it :o)


Mind you still on sport, who else is getting fed up of this England Football Manager hoo-ha! So Capello has left, he is being replaced, shouldn't that be an end to it?  No, unfortunately not, the media seems to think it is as big and important as the next big thing to affect the whole world. I read two newspapers yesterday and both had 8 pages on Capello and the England manager replacement..and that's without readers' views...and when you turn on the news, half the programme is dedicated to this tosh! Don't they realise that not every person is even slightly interested in such  political, money-driven, (only slightly sport related) controversy!


Well, what about the weather then. We haven't had much in the way of snow here in North Wales and we keep hoping that we will see some. What amazed me was countries not generally known for snow storms getting more than us. What's going on with Mother Nature? Is she getting bored with how she controls the weather as we know it? I remember when I was a child the weather was determined by the season, i.e. summer was summer and winter was winter...God I sound like my nain! :o/
Hmm I think I have just thought about what I can prattle on about in my next blog :o)


I have been ever so slightly annoyed with my lapi the last couple of days, the poor thing has been poorly, and not wanted to work as it should....HUH!.... yea right..slightly annoyed?...I have been so annoyed I contemplated telling it to pick a window! I am not technically minded at the best of times....stop laughing mr...but I do try and singing my own praises I have picked up a bit along the way...and I am fairly competent....you're still laughing aren't you A?...but there are times when I've just got to scream....aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!...phew that's better :o) So it's on to my tech support to ask nicely for help o sort out my poorly lapi.
